On their final day in the Principality of Asturias, the King and Queen of Spain, accompanied by their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, visited Sotres in the municipality of Cabrales to present the 2024 Exemplary Town of Asturias Award.

It won the award for conserving and promoting traditional, sustainable livestock farming in a high-mountain area, complemented by a quality agri-food industry and tourism. This success is supported by a vibrant, young community committed to preserving heritage, conserving the landscape, improving infrastructure, and fostering a rich socio-cultural environment.
