King and Queen of Spain host annual Balearic Islands reception

Tonight, the King and Queen of Spain hosted the annual Balearic Islands reception at the Royal Palace of La Almudaina in Majorca. They welcomed four hundred guests from the Balearic community, including politicians, academics, welfare groups and sports personalities.

Their Majesties were joined by Felipe's mother, Queen Sophia. She looked beautiful dressed in a beige floral tunic pant suit.

Queen Letizia opted for a more somber outfit, wearing a black sheer blouse and relaxed-fit silk pants.

Some of you may recall the controversy surrounding this infamous blouse when Letizia first wore it last year to a concert at the Palma Yacht Club.  Unfortunately, the flash lighting of paparazzi cameras revealed a little more than anticipated.

Many bloggers claim the pants are the Hugo Boss ' Hathea' trouser, but I disagree. Letizia's pants have a zip front and belt loops, which the 'Hathea' does not. Also the 'Hathea' trousers have an elasticized leg opening, while Letizia's pants are straight.  They still may be from Hugo Boss, but I have searched the Hugo Boss catalogue and was unable to find a similar style in their inventory. I'll classify these as unidentified.

On her feet were a new pair of strappy heels from Magrit. She debuted the 'Lena' sandals made of platinum and black specchio with a figure 8 strip design, and an Akira print cover instep and heel.

Queen Letizia also premiered a dazzling pair of chandelier earrings. The are the 'Hydra' style from Spanish jeweler Coolook. The silver earrings are covered with gold champagne and feature irregular green amethyst natural stones.

Rounding off the outfit was the Adolfo Domínguez python clutch.
