On Monday, Queen Letizia arrived in Cabo Verde for a four-day cooperation trip focused on gender equality, comprehensive development, and the blue economy, as part of the Spanish Cooperation initiatives.
Upon landing at Nelson Mandela International Airport on Santiago Island, she was welcomed by Spanish Ambassador Ana Paredes, Cape Verde’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Miryam Vieira, Cape Verde’s Ambassador to Spain Eduardo Jorge Silva, and Director General of State Protocol José María Tavares.
This marks Queen Letizia’s first official visit to Cabo Verde and her third cooperation trip to sub-Saharan Africa, following visits to Senegal in 2017 and Mozambique in 2019.
