During the pandemic, the BNE has made an effort to increase its presence in different digital channels, to keep communication channels open. During the meeting, the president of the BNE stated that thanks to more than 300,000 digitized copies, it is possible to offer almost 30 million images in the public domain.
Their Majesties later visited 'María Moliner' general reading room where they saw the protection measures taken by the BNE against COVID-19 for the gradual reopening of its rooms and cultural activities on Monday 8th June.
